Farm animals are those, which are domesticated and raised for various commodities. These may be food, labor or fiber. Collectively, you can call farm animals as cattle or livestock. The main purpose of farm animals is profit from what we get from them. There are numerous types of animals that are domesticated, like camel, cat, deer, cattle, donkey, dog, guinea pig, goat, rabbit, mule, pig, sheep, reindeer, yak as well as buffalo.
These animals are reared for things like meat, dairy products, fiber, fertilizers, labor and land management etc. the owner of farm animals must take very good care of these animals in order to get maximum output from them. This includes proper food for them. If they are herbivorous (most of the domesticated animals are), then they would be very happy and healthy with green grass and leaves etc as diet. However, during winters, it may not be possible for them to get such nutritive and fresh plants. In such a case, hay can be used to feed.
One thing to pay attention to is that these animals are also susceptible to diseases. It is the responsibility of the owner to administer proper vaccinations and medicines to the livestock. Any carelessness would lead to spreading of the disease. Even the humans around may become victims. So, it is as important as giving timely vaccinations to human infant. After all, what you want from these animals is profit and hence, it is your responsibility to maintain good health of your farm animals.
